Vacation Rental Description
The two bedrooms sleep four quite comfortably. The large deck has a gas grill
and seating for outdoor dining or just enjoying Mother Nature. There is cable
TV in the living room and both bedrooms, a nice selection of VHS & DVD movies,
magazines and books to read, a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, and a
desk area where you can set up your laptop computer and access the internet.
Local Activities and Attractions
Morgan Ridge Cottage is located in the North Georgia Mountains in Towns
County, Georgia. Hiawassee lies cradled in the heart of the Chattahoochee
National Forest and Nantahala National Forest which together make up almost 2
million acres. The Chattahoochee National Forest consists of 750,000 acres and
includes 10 wilderness areas, 2,200 miles of rivers and trout streams, numerous
waterfalls, and a hiker's paradise with over 450 miles of trails.
Hiawassee is home to Hiawassee Antique Mall, the largest antique mall in north
Georgia. With 10,000 square feet and more than 50 dealers, Hiawassee Antique
Mall offers a wide range of antiques and collectibles, including furniture, southern
pottery, primitives, fine china, silver, glassware, and jewelry.
Hiawassee is also on the Georgia Wine Trail in Georgia Wine Country. The
Georgia Wine Trail consists of 14 wineries of which 8 are located within 30 to 45
minutes, Blackstock Vineyards, Persimmon Creek Vineyards, Tiger Mountain
Vineyards, Crane Creek Vineyards, Frogtown Cellars, Habersham Vineyards and
Winery, Three Sisters Vineyards and Winery, and Wolf Mountain Vineyards. Travel
a little further and visit the famous Château Elan Winery in Brasselton, Georgia
approx. two hours away.
